teaching artist:
Sophia Ackelbein is originally from the Bay Area and as the daughter of an abstract painter she's been creating art since she was a little girl. Sophia is the owner of Malevolent Leather, a custom leather shop run out of her basement in Portland. With a love for any and all mediums, she stumbled into leather craft as a way to bring many of them together. Using her skills of printmaking, painting, sewing, and illustrating, she found a burning passion to create exciting and unique items out of leather. When not creating, you can find her in a swimming hole with her two dogs soaking up nature.
