Get ready to go blue!
Immerse yourself in the magic of indigo and the traditional Japanese art of Shibori, a resist-dyeing technique that uses folding, twisting, and binding to create intricate, one-of-a-kind patterns on fabric. Think of it as sophisticated tie-dye using a unique plant-based, rich blue dye.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to prepare your materials and set up the dye vat using indigo, then explore a variety of Shibori techniques as you dye your fabric. Watching your designs emerge—each unique and full of character—is one of the most rewarding parts of the process.
You’ll receive a 28” cotton tea towel and a large canvas tote bag to dye, with additional items like zipper pouches, pillow covers, and more available for purchase. You’re welcome to bring one small natural-fiber item of your own (cotton, silk, or rayon only; no large pieces like bed sheets or yardage).
There could be some drips, so wearing clothes/shoes that you wouldn’t mind getting stained is encouraged!

If you need to cancel, just let us know by email at least 24 hours in advance, and we’ll issue you a credit to use toward a future class.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are not eligible for credit, but feel free to give your spot to a friend.

Our adult workshops are designed for ages 16 and older. Youth ages 12-15 can participate if joining with an adult and both are signed up. Check out our kid classes for ages 6-12 here!

All necessary supplies for the class will be provided. Just bring yourself and an open mindset to trying new things!
Additional tools, supplies, or kits may be available for purchase for you to take home and continue the crafting fun.

In the studio we serve a variety of hot and cold beverages and small snacks to fuel your crafting. You may also bring in your own lidded drink (water bottle, coffee, etc). No alcohol permitted and no outside food.
