Class Description:

In this beginner-friendly class, you'll experience the fascinating art and science of making natural soy wax candles.

During class you’ll use the provided supply kit, alongside some basic kitchen items, to measure, mix, melt, and pour a fabulously scented 6 oz soy wax candle.

This experience was designed to be more than just step-by-step instruction to make this one candle. You'll also learn key information while you go, so you can learn about the reasons behind each step.

Whether you hope to make more candles for yourself, friends, or even to sell, this will set up you to make your own choices about the wax, wicks, fragrance, and containers that you want to work with in the future.  

By the end of class, you’ll have your candle successfully curing and the confidence and tools to make endless candle creations.

In this class you'll learn about:

• Setting up your equipment and workspace
• Calculating the amount of wax needed for your container
• Considerations when using different types of waxes
  
• Selecting the correct wick size and type
• How to place and secure your wick
• Measuring your fragrance oil
• Tips on blending fragrance oils to create new scents 
• Melting your wax to the correct temperature
• Pouring and curing your candle
• Recommendations for candle care and burning

Supply Kit:

The candle making kit includes the following:

• metal candle container
• 6 oz of high quality soy wax 
• wick
• wick sticker and holder
• fragrance oil (your choice of scent)
• metal pouring pitcher (12 fl oz)
• digital thermometer

You'll also need the following:

• stovetop burner
• small cooking pot
• water
• hot pads and trivets

Candle Scents:

Please select your preferred scent when ordering your kit. The premium scents feature a blend of natural essential and perfume-grade fragrance oils. They are non-toxic, phthalate-free, and vegan-friendly.

• Ocean Breeze- a refreshing scent with notes of citrus, sea salt, marine, and green floral
• Cypress & Bayberry - an evergreen tree scent with notes of eucalyptus, cypress, fir, and bayberry 
• Egyptian Amber - a warm and bold scent with notes of leather, sandalwood, musk, and amber
